This site provides information about the COMIC project at Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) at Lancaster University, which is centered on four major themes. First, an investigation of the organizational context within which CSCW systems are placed and how this can be supported in cooperative systems. Second, an understanding of the means by which CSCW systems are developed and how this is best supported in line with existing development techniques. Third, an examination of the use of notation within CSCW systems and the development of an appropriate role for notation. Fourth, the uncovering of different forms of interaction with and around shared objects and how this can be supported to best facilitate cooperative work. These research themes have been chosen specifically to allow close cooperation across a number of disciplines.
